Pediatric Compounding

Is it a challenge for you to get your child to take their medication?

We, here at Seena Pharmacy can provide you with a solution. We specialize in pediatric compounding. Each medication is custom made just for you to meet your child’s specific needs. We have a dedicated staff that can work alongside your child’s pediatrician to make the medications more palatable for your child.

Flavoring medications

Most of the parents would agree that getting their kids to take medications could be a challenge due to the taste, texture or color of the commercially available formulations. Your pharmacist at Seena Pharmacy can make the medication more desirable for your child by adding flavoring agents, sweetening enhancers and bitterness suppressants, without compromising the effectiveness of the medication. Your child can choose their favorite flavor from the wide range of flavors we offer.

Dosage form alternatives

Children sometimes require a specific medication, dosage form, or strength that is not available in the market. We can work with your child’s pediatrician to find the best way to create the most appropriate alternative for your child. If your child does not like taking tablets and finds it hard to swallow them, we can transform the medication into formulations that might be easier for your child to swallow. We can also transform the medications into other alternative dosage forms that your child won’t mind taking, some of which are:

  • Solutions
  • Suspensions
  • Lollipops
  • Lozenges
  • Topical creams, lotions, gels and ointments
  • Suppositories

Special needs

Every child is different. If your child has any medical condition that requires them to stick with medication formulations that are gluten-free, sugar-free, dye-free or soy-free, we can compound it for them.

Autism

Any parent who has a child with autism would know that certain ingredients like sugar, soy, gluten and dyes can exacerbate the condition. We can work closely with you to identify any specific needs and prepare the compounded formulation specifically based on your child’s need.
